Youth

          Our youth program is about real life, your life.  The hard questions you face.  The decisions you have to make every day.  The importance of friends.  If you are a teen, you know how much pressure you are under to “follow the crowd.”  Here at First Christian you can find Christian friends who share your values and your struggles, friends with whom you can just be yourself and not have to put on a front or pretend to be cool.  This is a place where being a Christian doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time!  

          Our youth groups meet at 5:00 on Sunday evenings during the school year.  Twice a month the junior and senior high come together for fellowship or service opportunities.  Twice a month they meet separately.  For more information on our youth program, contact our youth director, Mark Hild at 573-9609.

Summer of 2006 Mission Trip

First Christian Youth Group and Faith Christian Youth departed for a mission trip to Mexico 
June 9 -17-2006. They traveled to Rio Bravo and helped construct four casitas.

The combined group chartered a bus for the trip south.  They stayed in McAllen, TX and shuttled  each day to Rio Bravo, Mexico.

The construction crews were made up of 2-3 adults and 9-10 youths along with 4 on-site supervisors.  Our 4 crews completed and dedicated four casitas in only three days.

God's presence was everywhere.  Besides building the casitas, we built relationships with many of the kids around the construction sites and also with the families who were moving into the casitas.
