How Should I Dress for Worship?
Come dressed however you feel comfortable. We have folks in jeans and t-shirts, and folks in suits and ties.
Is the Church Wheelchair Accessible?
Yes! We have entry to the sanctuary at ground level and also have an elevator to access our fellowship hall. There are special seating areas within the sanctuary to accommodate the room needed for a wheelchair as well.
Do you perform weddings for non-members?
We gladly perform weddings for non-members. However, while we want to give couples a beautiful and memorable wedding, a wedding is just one day. That’s why our pre-marital counseling is designed to give couples a solid foundation for building a healthy life-long relationship. Couples learn how to effectively communicate, how to manage the conflict that is inevitable in every marriage, and other skills vital to a healthy, lasting marriage. For information on cost or next steps, please contact the church office.
Are you a non-denominational church?
We are a part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the first denomination to be founded on American soil. Reflecting our founders’ passion for Christian unity, the Disciples’ identity statement proclaims that we are a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. Though a part of the Disciples of Christ, we are congregationally governed, which means we own our own property and call our own pastors. For more information on the Disciples, click here.
Are you liberal or conservative?
We are both liberal and conservative. We are liberal in that we believe in an inclusive God who loves everyone. That’s the scandal of Jesus Christ: that he didn’t just die to save the good guys, but the sinners, the outcasts, the least, the last and the lost. We are conservative because we believe that who we are and what we do must be rooted in the Word of God. We are liberal because we strive to be culturally relevant, responsive and in tune with the world around us. We are conservative because in this age of relativism we believe that there are eternal truths and absolute values which are revealed to us through scripture and mediated to us through the ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit.
